After three 12-hour days in a row I received a little treat today. A water main ruptured in front of my office and the water was shut off. No restrooms, no air conditioning and no fire sprinklers. Since it was one of the hottest days of the year they decided, reluctantly, to close the office early. Sadly, the same ol' deadlines are still in place...

Worked midnight to 5pm today. Did the same on Wednesday. 58 hours on the week. I'm dead right now.

I am an inspector for construction projects. When the contractor goes to work for midnight, I go to work for midnight.

It's a pretty cool gig. I've been able to see some really cool shit in some really cool places. The thing the sucks the most about the job is that it is weather dependant. If it rains or it's too cold, I don't work.

That's good. At least you got off right after you posted this. It was the travel time that made it bad. I thought that even though I had to work late, I would miss the traffic. That wasn't the case. Ugh, LA.
